ELLISE PIERCE
Ghostwriter. Book coach. Editor.

You’ve tried and given up.
You know you have a book in you, but you don’t know how to begin.
You’re in the middle of the process, but are losing steam.
You’ve got a manuscript that needs another set of eyes.

I can help you write a book, even if you don't know where to start

Writing a book isn't easy. But when you finally hold it in your hands, you'll know that all the doubts, rewrites, edits, sleepless nights — and too many handfuls of M&Ms — were worth it.I'll help you get there.

Batman and Robin. Lucy and Ethel. Tom and Jerry

Everyone needs a partner to help them reach their highest potential.

Wherever you are in the book writing process, I can help you move forward by:
• Developing a detailed, chapter-by-chapter outline
• Identifying stories that illustrate key concepts and themes
• Creating content that aligns with target audiences
• Pointing out information gaps, inconsistencies, and repetitiveness
• Providing developmental editing and manuscript feedback

You won't find my name on these book covers

Some recent projects I've either ghostwritten, edited, or book coached include:• A memoir about a widow who took over her husband's car dealership and turned it into a success
• A memoir about a college engineering student who hated school and didn't fit in
• A business book about workplace bullying and how to prevent the abuse
• A book about how to embrace unpredictability in business
• A leadership guide for Black women in education
• An anti-career manifesto about following your own path to fulfillment
• A guide for leaders who want to become better communicators

My story

With a background in journalism—I got my first job as a news reporter for a local radio station at 16—I've lived my entire life telling stories, including my own.I wrote the bestselling cookbook/memoir, Cowgirl Chef: Texas Cooking with a French Accent (Running Press/Hachette), a collection of essays and recipes that captured my homesickness for Texas and big love for France. The book was featured in The New York Times, Texas Monthly, and The Dallas Morning News, among others. As an award-winning journalist with 20+ years of experience, I've learned how to ask the right questions, simplify complex topics, and find the compelling narrative in any story. I bring curiosity and strong interviewing skills to every book project, collaborating with authors to clarify their message and bring their vision to life. I've worked as a ghostwriter, book coach, and editor specializing in business books, memoirs, and self-help.
